Baltimore Scott

Baltimore Scott is the Senior Vice President and Administrator of Crenshaw Christian Center East (New York City), responsible for overseeing Ministry operations, strategic planning, administration, finances, and human resources to achieve the Ministry’s mission and vision.

Mr. Scott attended Occidental College in Los Angeles where he received his A.B. Degree in 1962. He then attended New York University School of Law and earned his Juris Doctor in 1965.

Having returned to Los Angeles thereafter, Mr. Scott went to work as an organizer and business advisor for the Small Business Development Center of Los Angeles where he made loans to minority businesses following the Watts riots of 1965. In the 36 years of his professional life that followed, Mr. Scott provided executive leadership in a plethora of business scenarios. He was Executive Director of the Interracial Council for Business Opportunity, Los Angeles; Corporate Director, Industrial Relations, Monogram Industries, Inc.; Executive Vice President of R & D and Education, Monogram Industries (Santa Monica, CA and New York, New York); President, Baltimore Scott & Associates (Management Consultants for Business, Government and Education); and he was President and CEO for Ruben Zurc, Inc., New York, New York.

Among his many extraordinary business and professional accomplishments, Mr. Scott developed a program to assist minority students in the apparel industry (which resulted in the creation of the Fashion Industry Development Corporation); and co-authored the Comprehensive Drug Treatment Program for the Cities of New York and Newark, New Jersey. Under the auspices of Baltimore Scott Associates, he advised Fortune 500 companies such as ARCO, Equitable Life Insurance Company, City of New York, City
of Los Angeles, as well as the U.S. Departments of Education, Commerce, Labor, and the National Institute of Mental Health.

Other beneficiaries of Mr. Scott’s business acumen have been the National Task Force on Education and Training for Minority Business Enterprise where he served as Executive Director and as Editor-in-Chief of the Task Force Report (published) by the U.S. Government. He was also a member of the team appointed by HEW Secretary Robert H. Finch to evaluate the U.S. Department of Health Education and Welfare. Mr. Scott has served on numerous boards including the Board of Directors of Dollars For Scholars, Inc., Higher Education for Los Angeles Minorities (HELM), The Metropolitan YMCA of Los Angeles, and the Alumni Board of Governors of Occidental College.

Mr. Scott’s vast and varied business successes were a factor in his being selected as the Administrator and Senior Vice President of the Crenshaw Christian Center East. More importantly, his devout faith and commitment to spreading the Gospel made him the most likely candidate for this position that he has held since 2001. An ordained minister, he also currently serves as the Spiritual Head of Crenshaw Christian Center East, acting as Pastor.
